Freezer's was originally founded in 1996 in Rapid City, South Dakota as Armadillo’s. This was a spin-off of the old Zesto Ice Cream Shoppes dating back to the 1940s. Initially a single store located in an old gas station, Armadillo’s eventually expanded into other freestanding sites and also co-branded into a KOA Campground. During 1997, RMD Marketing incorporated a flavoring company, Sweetheart Specialties, into our sales and marketing concept. We have begun licensing freestanding or add-on stores to sell specialty old-fashioned ice cream, sodas, sundaes, malts and cones. By capitalizing on our newest purchase, Sweetheart Specialties Flavorings, we have positioned ourselves to produce the highest quality yet most economical selection of flavors for making your own frozen desserts, ice cream, sherbets, slushes or other types of confectioneries.
